Animal Rescue Needs Help

Hi, all you animal lovers. This is pretty simple... Please tell  ten friends to tell ten today! The Animal Rescue Site is having trouble  getting enough people to click on it daily to meet their quota of getting free  food donated every day to abused and neglected animals. It takes less than a  minute (How about 20 seconds) to go to their site and click on the purple box  "Click Here to Give--It's Free". This doesn't cost you a thing. Their  corporate sponsors/advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate food  to abandoned/neglected animals in exchange for advertising.

Pass it along to everyone you know.

Help Find a Cure!

Thank you Spanky's Mom for sharing this:

Please tell ten friends to tell ten today! The Breast Cancer site is having trouble getting enough people to click on their site daily to meet their quota of donating at least one free mammogram a day to an underprivileged woman. It takes less than a minute to go to their site and click on 'donating a mammogram' for free (pink window in the middle).

This doesn't cost you a thing. Their corporate sponsors /advertisers use the number of daily visits to donate mammogram in exchange for advertising.

Here's the web site! Pass it along to people you know.

Tip of the week

Difficulty house training your pup

Nacho, although I love him, is a reminder that some pups are more difficult to house train.
For instance, after taking the dogs out and waiting until all have done their business, we'll come back in for the first meal of the day. No sooner than the back door shuts behind us, Nacho does his business in the house pinch

As frustrating as a messy puppy can be, it's important to remain calm and rational, which isn't always easy, huh?

Nacho had a recent vet check, so I knew that he was in good health, but I also knew that there had to be some other problem, something leading to the constant accidents. Things were getting so bad. He would go in his crate several times a day; he'd go on the floor on the way to going outside; he'd go before and right after he ate.

Finally, I realized that if Nacho was having all of these accidents and did not have a health problem, he had an owner problem. I was feeding him too much.

I don't know why I didn't recognize it sooner. Penny is a nibbler. She eats a bite or two and then she's done for the moment. Nacho on the other hand gorges. He'll eat and eat and eat until the bowl is dry.

Although, I had been limiting the meals to two, no more than three times a day, Nacho was getting far too much to eat. I slowly cut back his serving sizes until I found a point where he was getting the recommended amount, but not over eating.

Finally. The accidents are few and far in between.

If your pup, or even your mature dog starts having frequent accidents and the vet says they're in good health, then consider that you might be over feeding your dog. Slowly cut back the amount, without reducing beyond recommendation for your dogs weight, age and activity level. Dogs aim to please their owners and will do anything they can to prevent having accidents. They want nothing more than to make us happy, but it's up to us to determine what works best for them.

Hope this helps smile
